CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte 49ers announced their 2019 football schedule on Thursday and the Niners will take on the defending National Champions Clemson in Death Valley on September 21st. They will also make the trip to Boone to take on App State on September 7th.
“With September games in Boone and at Clemson, this is the toughest out-of-conference schedule in our league, but it’s one we believe will prepare us for battle in Conference USA,” said new 49ers head coach Will Healy in a press release provided by the Charlotte 49ers.
Charlotte will take on 6 teams that went to bowl games in 2018 including Clemson, App State, Florida International, North Texas, Middle Tennessee, and Marshall.
The Niners will open the season with a home game on August 31st as they will host Gardner-Webb.
Charlotte will start Conference USA play with a home game on September 28th when they host Florida Atlantic.
