GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A joint investigation by Gaston County Police and local, state and federal agencies led to the arrest of three individuals in possession of $200,000 worth of methamphetamine.
Investigators found 2 kilograms of the narcotic when they went through with the arrests of the group on Monday, January 7. One of the suspects taken into custody included Critian Cabrera-Rivas, 36, an illegal alien with MS-13 connections who had previously been arrested for a number of different serious crimes including assault with a deadly weapon.
In addition to Cabrera-Rivas, Silvia Hernandez-Iturralde, 29, and Marco Tulio Ramos Garcia, 35, were also arrested. Both are illegal immigrants at this time as well. All three were charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
The three currently remain in custody and secured bonds have been set for each as an investigation into their immigration status as well as any further connections with narcotics continues to be conducted.
Several children were present during the investigation and were taken into protective custody.
