Man charged with murder in March fatal shooting near NoDa

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a fatal shooting that happened near Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood in early March.

Jamarr Trantwan James, 26, is charged with murder in the death of Damien Rashad Mack, 37.

The shooting happened early in the morning on March 7 at a home on the 4100 block of Atmore Street. Mack was found shot to death inside the home.

Police say evidence gathered during the investigation led to James being named as a suspect but they did not reveal any details about what that evidence was.

James was interviewed at CMPD headquarters before he was charged. He was then taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
