CMPD names second vehicle of interest in fatal hit-and-run case

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police are asking the public for help in identifying a potential second vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision off of Lawyers Rd. on the evening of Oct. 19.

CMPD is asking members of the community to help identify the driver of a black dually quad-cab pickup truck that has either a damaged or missing fog light on the front, passenger’s side of the vehicle. The truck has a chrome bumper and lights on the side-view mirrors. There are no clearance lights on the roof of the truck.

Detectives are also still searching for a white, mid-2000s Ford F-350 dually quad-cab with a tool box in the bed that may have been involved in this collision.

Medic declared the pedestrian, Eric Ryan Elsea, deceased at the scene of the incident shortly after reports of the collision came in. The accident occurred between Brookstone Dr. and Meadow Glen Dr., near Mint Hill.
