KANNAPOLIS, NC (WBTV) - A person was taken into custody after reportedly bringing a BB gun onto the grounds of a high school in Kannapolis Wednesday, according to Kannapolis City Schools.
The incident happened during dismissal at A.L. Brown High School. School officials say the person - who was not a student - brought the BB onto campus as part of a domestic dispute.
Officials say a student saw the gun and immediately informed the school’s principal, Dr. Todd Parker. Parker and other school administrators then stopped the person with the BB gun and the Kannapolis Police Department was called and the person was taken into custody.
According to the school system, the person was later charged by police with communicating threats, disorderly conduct, and having a weapon on school grounds.
Dr. Parker sent a phone message to parents alerting them of what happened.
No one was injured in the incident and dismissal of school was able to continue.
No further information has been released.
