CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV Web Staff) - A Gaston County woman accused of attempting to rob a Gaston County convenience store Wednesday was arrested and charged.
Deputies say the attempted robbery happened around 2:30 p.m. at Lynn’s Stop and Shop in the 5100 block of E NC 27 Hwy.
Crystal Faith Lincoln, 35 of Dallas, NC, reportedly walked in and handed the clerk a note that read,“put the money in a bag and no one would get hurt.” The clerk told the woman that she couldn’t get the cash register open. The clerk called 911 and Lincoln fled in a dark-colored Chrysler Pacifica, deputies say.
Detectives were able to pull images from security cameras and located Lincoln a short distance from the store, on the side of Highway 27.
Deputies say a similar robbery situation happened at a convenience store in Alexis.
Lincoln is being charged with two felony counts of attempted common law robbery. She is being held at the Gaston County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond.
