Lynx Blue Line causing disruption for commuters after Hurricane Michael

Lynx Blue Line is enforcing a bus bridge after damage caused by Hurricane Michael

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Hurricane Michael has disrupted communities with excessive flooding and now its causing some issues for commuters traveling on the Lynx Blue Line.

CATS announced Tuesday, due to the overhead catenary system being damaged after the storm, a bus bridge will be enforced to help with commuters relying on the Blue Line for transportation.

The bus bridge will be in place between the Scaleybark and Sugar Creek stations and will travel into uptown Charlotte. Riders can still ride the train between I-485/South Boulevard and New Bern stations and from the 36th Street to UNC Charlotte Main stations.

CATS says staff will be on hand at the bus bridge to help riders differentiate between the different buses.

CityLYNX Gold Line streetcar remains suspended while repairs are being made. Rides can reach those same stops through the CATS bus system.

Officials have not said when services on either will resume.
