CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Carolina Panthers went through their first on the field workout this week Wednesday morning getting ready for their Sunday showdown against the Redskins in the nation’s capital.
Despite it being rainy, the Cats Head Coach Ron Rivera said he felt like his team got in a good practice making the most of the weather and field conditions.
It was a day of comebacks for the team.
Linebacker Thomas Davis was back from his four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
He was very emotional when asked about his return saying it was a tough time losing a parent like he did during his suspension and not having the guys in the locker room to lean on.
Coach Rivera said it was good to have Thomas out there on the field running around and he brought some energy.
Meanwhile tight end Greg Olsen was back on the field from his foot injury suffered earlier this season.
He was limited in practice but looked good to a lot of those watching, including his starting quarterback Cam Newton.
When asked how he thought Olsen looked out there, Cam replied, “the band is back again.”
