VALDESE, NC (WBTV) - Roger Zamora was inside a restaurant on Main Street in Valdese when all of a sudden there was a commotion outside.
“I heard a shot and everyone was running.”
It turns out two cars had pulled into town and stopped along the 500 block of Main Street. The drivers got out, got into a fight, and a shot was fired.
Police say Joshua Max Barnes was wounded in the shoulder. Joseph Mark Harrison, the suspected shooter, was quickly surrounded by people who told him to get on the ground. He did.
Police arrived in less than a minute and took Harrison to the department for questioning. Barnes was taken to one hospital then later transported to another with non-life threatening injuries, said police.
Investigators are still working to determine what exactly happened. No charges had been filed by late Thursday.
Police officials indicated that their reports would be turned over to the District Attorney to decide what if any charges will be filed.
