SHELBY, NC (WBTV) - Shelby police have finally been able to make an arrest in a deadly shooting case that happened back in June of this year.
Officials say they found 17-year-old Delavin Card lifeless behind apartments along West Warren Street after a woman who was living in the area called police to make a report of the dead body she saw through her window.
Shelby police were able to serve a warrant and make an arrest recently which helps to ease some of the pain the community felt When Card was killed.
Jaylin Wilson, 2, went before a Cleveland County judge, facing a charge of first-degree murder. He was being sough for 3 months.
The crime Wilson’s accused of committing shook the entire neighborhood. Thursday, he allowed the court to pair him with legal counsel issued by the state.
It’s still not clear what happened back in late June and police have not released any possible motive.
Wilson will continue to be held in jail without bond. His next court date will be toward the end of September once his lawyer has been assigned.
